People not familiar with 11th and 12th class education in Telangana and AndhraPradesh might have found the video a tad exaggerated but believe me, it is actually worse than what has been shown here. I was one of the many telugu students who was put through two years of intensive coaching so that I could get in to one of the NITs. Me not even qualifying is altogether another story but, through a series of posts on this blog, I want to tell you all how depressing the lives of lakhs of telugu students are. Most of them will be through my own experiences. From understanding the mess to navigating and giving up at one point, I will share my story at Sri Chaitanya Junior Kalasala, Chaitanyapuri.

To give you all some context, 11th and 12th class education in Telangana and AndraPradesh is controlled by "Board of Intermediate Examination (BIE)". We call 11th Junior Inter and 12th Senior Inter. Though many other streams are offered only MPC (Maths,Physics,Chemistry) and BiPC (Biology,Physics,Chemistry) are popular thanks to the insane number of engineering and medical colleges. There are two "famous" colleges in which most of the ill fated students are put in. One Sri Chaitanya Junior Kalasala and the other, Narayana Junior College, Both of them started as coaching centers offering crash courses for entrance examinations in the 90s. Over time, they gobbled up smaller colleges and have grown in to enormous size, The branch where I studied, there were some 50 sections each for junior and senior intermediate with 70 students in each section.

In the upcoming posts. I'll try and explain how is it like to be in such a depressing place. I will start with explaining how the place is and then talk about how they torture kids for two years. From now on, think of the both colleges as factories which produce eligible products for engineering and medical colleges.
